Group Study Rooms

Students in a group study room

Group study rooms are available on the upper and lower levels of the library. Study rooms are intended for collaborative study and group projects. Groups of two or more people may reserve a study room online with a valid Biola email address. Individuals may not reserve a study room for personal use. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance and no more than two hours may be booked by a single user in a single day.

Borrowing Library Materials

国产偷拍视频Biola students may check out up to 25 books, 10 media items and three reserves at one time. Most books circulate for four weeks, media items for one week and checkout times for reserves materials vary.

Your Biola ID is your library card. Bring it with you to enter the library, check out materials, place holds or renew items. Renewals can be made five times online using your or unlimited times at the Information Desk in the library. You may not renew an item if the item is excessively overdue, on hold for another patron or if you have unpaid fines or charges.

Check your to view due dates, fines or fees. As a courtesy, you will receive a notice via email; however, failure to receive a notice does not exempt you from the charges. You can also sign up to receive about your library account.

Course Reserves

国产偷拍视频Your instructor may place books and media items “on reserve” for your class to use. These course reserves may be checked out for a short length of time from the Information Desk.

How to find a course reserve:

Getting Material from Other Libraries

LINK+ and Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

We understand that sometimes you will need resources unavailable at the Biola Library. LINK+ and ILL are services that allow you to request items from other libraries and have them delivered to Biola. See for more information about LINK+ and Interlibrary Loan.

Reciprocal Borrowing Programs

The library participates in several reciprocal borrowing programs with other institutions in the United States and Canada. These agreements allow Biola members to physically use the collections and facilities of other libraries. Use the to find a library near you and apply for access.


Printing & Copying

Library copier

The Pharos print and copy system is available at many locations on campus for students, faculty, staff, guests and alumni. Photocopiers are located on all levels of the library. Print stations are located on the Middle Level near the Tech Commons and on the Lower Level. The Tech Commons desk, located on the middle level of the library, supports the Pharos print and copy system.

  • 40¢ for color

Scanning to PDF is free, but a Biola ID or copy card with funds is required to log in to the copiers.

Test Proctoring Service

The Biola Library Test Proctoring Center offers proctoring services for Biola students and members of the community who need to have a test proctored. Our services include both paper testing and online testing in a convenient, comfortable, and secure proctored environment at a reasonable cost. This service will meet or exceed the best practices established by the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

Media Equipment

The Tech Commons loans media equipment to staff, faculty, and students in support of curricular activities and campus life. To reserve media equipment, please fill out a . You are also welcome to walk in and check out equipment at the Tech Commons desk located on the middle level. Visit the website for more information about equipment loans.


Rhetoric & Writing Center

Biola's Rhetoric & Writing Center is a place where students of all disciplines and writing abilities can discuss their writing with a trained consultant, designed to provide feedback and assessment of papers in progress. The Rhetoric & Writing Center emphasizes the process of writing and striving to produce a student’s best possible work through guided questions and suggestions for improvement - it is not an editing or proofreading service. The Rhetoric & Writing Center is open to all Biola students and is located on the middle level of the library. For more information, visit the Rhetoric & Writing Center website.


Tutoring

The Learning Center

The Learning Center is located on the Upper Level of the library in Room U124. Affordable one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions are available for most undergraduate general education Biola courses. Tutoring is offered to provide students with personal assistance to enhance, support and clarify concepts discussed in lecture and course material. Assistive Services

国产偷拍视频The Learning Center provides reasonable and appropriate accommodations to students with psychological, medical, physical and learning disabilities, and ensures legal compliance with state and federal disability law. The library provides the Learning Resource Room, located on the middle level of the library, to accommodate students with disabilities. Some of the functions of the room include, but are not limited to:

  • Test proctoring for DSS students
  • Adaptive computer technology (Dragon software, Kurzweil, and Zoomtext)
  • CCTV

In order to receive accommodations for a disability, students will first need to obtain and submit documentation. See The Learning Center website for further details on how to get registered with the center.


Library Lockers for Doctoral Students

Lockers are available in the middle level Copy Room for Biola students, staff, faculty, and alumni who are actively using the library and pursuing a doctoral degree. Lockers are assigned to eligible students on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be used until the end of the current term. Lockers may be used to store personal items and checked-out library materials (subject to certain restrictions).


Heritage Café

Heritage Cafe

The Heritage Cafe, located near the entrance to the library, serves Starbucks beverages, acai bowls, fresh squeezed juices, gourmet sandwiches, and salads. Decorated with items from the library Archives and remembrances from Biola’s history, the Heritage Cafe provides customers with the chance to reflect on Biola’s purpose and mission. Ample seating areas are available outside the library and in an expanded lobby area inside the library.

The is designed to create a safe and quiet environment for all patrons to enjoy. The library and its contents is a shared resource and, as such, requires all patrons to treat it and the other patrons who use it with respect and consideration. Library users are responsible for informing themselves of library policies. This code applies to all users of the Biola Library, including faculty, staff and members of the community. Working at the Library

Biola University employs students to staff service desks, shelve materials, repair materials, and process materials for our collections and Interlibrary Loan.

Benefits to working at the library include:
